These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a binding agreement between Zabcore Inc. ("Zabcore", "we", "us") and you ("you"). By installing or using the AI Leak Guard browser extension, using zabcore.com, or contacting us about our products, you agree to these Terms.
These Terms cover the AI Leak Guard browser extension and the zabcore.com website. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not install the extension or use our website.
/ 02What the Service is
AI Leak Guard is a free, open-source Chrome browser extension that detects sensitive identifiers in your browser and lets you replace them with placeholders before pasting into supported AI chat tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, and Microsoft Copilot).
Key characteristics you should understand before agreeing to these Terms:
- No account. The extension does not require registration, sign-up, or login. There is no Zabcore-hosted account associated with your use of it.
- Local operation. All detection runs on your device. We do not receive, store, or process the text you type. See our Privacy Policy for detail.
- Free. The extension is and will remain free for individual use.
- Open source. The full source code is published at github.com/zabcore/ai-leak-guard under the MIT License.
/ 03License
Extension use
Zabcore grants you a personal, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to install and use the AI Leak Guard extension for its intended purpose. This license does not transfer any ownership of the software or trademarks.
Open-source source code
The AI Leak Guard source code is licensed under the MIT License, the full text of which is included in the GitHub repository. That license controls your rights to copy, modify, and distribute the source code itself. Nothing in these Terms limits your rights under that MIT License.
/ 04Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use AI Leak Guard to violate any applicable law, including laws governing the privacy of health information, financial data, or personally identifiable information.
- Attempt to disable, defeat, or circumvent the extension's protective behavior on a device you don't own or control.
- Represent AI Leak Guard as making any AI tool "HIPAA compliant" or "compliant" with any regulation. It is a preventive privacy control and does not confer compliance status on any third-party product.
- Redistribute a modified version of the extension that misleads users about its behavior or provenance without clearly identifying it as a modified fork.
/ 05Privacy
How we collect, use, and protect information is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. The short version: the extension does not send us the text you type, and we do not maintain user accounts or profiles for the extension.
/ 06Detection disclaimer
AI Leak Guard is a detection and assistance tool. It is not guaranteed to detect every possible sensitive identifier, and it is not a substitute for your professional judgment or your organization's information-security program.
You retain final responsibility for what you paste into any AI tool. When AI Leak Guard shows you a preview of what it would mask, you choose whether to send the protected version, send the original, or cancel - and Zabcore is not liable for the consequences of your choice.
Specifically, AI Leak Guard does not: make any AI tool compliant with HIPAA, GDPR, CCPA, or any other regulation; establish a Business Associate relationship between you and any AI provider; replace your organization's privacy and security program; or constitute legal or compliance advice.
HIPAA framing. AI Leak Guard supports your organization's HIPAA compliance efforts. It does not, by itself, make any organization HIPAA compliant; compliance remains your organization's responsibility.
/ 07Warranties & disclaimers
THE EXTENSION AND THE ZABCORE.COM WEBSITE ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that the extension will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that detection will identify every instance of sensitive information. We do not warrant that Chrome or the supported AI tools will behave as expected on any specific version, on any specific device, or at any specific time.
/ 08Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ZABCORE AND ITS OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND CONTRACTORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF THE EXTENSION OR THIS WEBSITE, WHETHER BASED ON WARRANTY, CONTRACT, TORT, STATUTE, OR ANY OTHER LEGAL THEORY, AND WHETHER OR NOT ZABCORE HAS BEEN INFORMED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGE.
OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE EXTENSION OR THESE TERMS SHALL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (US $100). Because the extension is provided free of charge, this cap reflects the nature of the transaction.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages. In those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the greatest extent permitted by applicable law.
/ 09Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Zabcore from third-party claims arising out of (a) your violation of these Terms, (b) your misuse of the extension, (c) your violation of applicable law, or (d) any decision you make about what to paste (or not paste) into any AI tool.
/ 10Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top and post a notice on this page. Your continued use of the extension or website after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
/ 11Disputes & governing law
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply.
Informal resolution first
Before filing a formal claim, please email us at legal@zabcore.com so we can try to resolve it informally. Most disputes can be resolved with a short conversation.
Binding arbitration
Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally within 30 days will be settled by binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules. Arbitration will take place in Delaware or, at your option, remotely.
Class action waiver
You and Zabcore agree that any dispute will be resolved on an individual basis, not as part of a class, collective, or representative action.
Opt-out
You may opt out of the arbitration provision by emailing legal@zabcore.com within 30 days of first installing the extension, with the subject line "Arbitration Opt-Out."
